We are seeking a Quality Inspector/Technician – Final Audit for the First shift.
What You'll Do:
- Reports to the Quality Control General Foreman/Supervisor who is present on the shift. In the absence of these personnel, the Quality Control Lead will direct the Quality Control Inspector.
- Audits each container of castings which have been process through Finishing, making sure that the castings meet criteria specified on the Process Information Sheet. This includes proper grinding, hardness, and dimensional criteria, as well as packaging requirements.
- Responsible for weighing and counting each container of castings after final audit has been completed. When required, standard pack quantities shall be verified.
- If for any reason a container of castings is rejected during final audit, an entry must be recorded in the Final Audit Log. The Quality Control Supervisor and Grinding Supervisor shall be notified of the rejection immediately, so that disposition can be determined.
- Responsible for sealing the VCI bag which surrounds the castings in each container, after weigh-counting. This action ensures that castings do not rust prior to shipment.
- Will assign the location in which each container shall be stored within the Finished Goods Warehouse, with the assistance of the AS-400 computer system.
- Responsible for generating Bar Code Shipping Tags and affixing them to each container after final audit and weigh-counting. Bar code tags will indicate the location for container storage in the finished goods warehouse.
- Evaluates each scrap casting rejected by the Inspector/Grinders to determine whether a correct assessment has been made. Acceptable castings are returned to the grinding chutes for processing.
- Records each casting which has been scrapped, noting part number, lot number, and reason for defects. This information is relayed to the Quality Control Supervisor at the end of each shift, so that scrap records can be updated.
- Notifies the Grinding Room Supervisor when scrap pans are full, so that proper disposal can take place in a timely manner.
- Audits the NDT Testing Process periodically to ensure that the process is performing properly.
- Responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly work area.
- Report all unsafe conditions, injuries, and illness to your supervision immediately.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
