Description

The Kentucky Judicial Branch offers exciting career opportunities with the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) in Frankfort and the state courts that operate in all 120 Kentucky counties. The AOC’s Department of Human Resources has an opening for a Training & Curriculum Development Specialist on its Employee Experience Team. The workstation for this position is in Frankfort.

Due to the nature of the job duties and responsibilities, this position is not authorized for virtual work.

The Training and Curriculum Development Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, designing, and maintaining training materials, delivering in-person and e-learning/virtual trainings, developing and maintaining a course catalog and training calendar, and administering the Learning Management System (LMS).

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Create effective content and training materials, including learning materials, presentations, supplemental resources, and assessments.
  • Write training outlines using lecture, group discussion, demonstration, role playing and other techniques.
  • Design integrated programs of specialized training sessions and workshops.
  • Deliver trainings, adapting delivery methods to different learning styles, whether through classroom sessions, e-learning modules, or blended approaches.
  • Schedules, organizes, facilitates, and delivers new employee orientation on high-volume hiring days, typically the first and the sixteenth of the month.
  • Conduct training needs analyses to identify gaps in employee knowledge and skills to tailor training initiatives accordingly.
  • Conduct surveys and utilize appropriate metrics to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, appointing authorities, and managers to ensure training aligns with needs and organizational goals.
  • Understand and incorporate relevant legal and industry regulations into training materials and delivery.
  • Conduct ongoing program evaluations and updates to ensure training offerings continues to fit the needs of KCOJ.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Education, Communications, Human Resources, or other business-related field

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: 2-3 years of training development and delivery experience preferred

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Associate’s degree with five (5) years of job-related experience or H.S. Diploma with seven (7) years of job-related experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Strong communication & presentation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with LMS. Experience conducting training-needs analysis. Ability to design and deliver training. Excellent interpersonal skills and an overall positive attitude. Ability to present ideas professionally, in an inclusive, employee-friendly manner. Ability to evaluate program effectiveness to identify areas for improvement. Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office setting. In-state travel may be required.
