The opportunity

Join Aura’s top-tier Android SDK team and take part in building a large-scale mobile SDK. This is a unique opportunity to develop modular, system-level components that integrate deeply with the Android OS and are used by millions of devices globally.

In the short term, your success will be measured by how quickly you onboard, start contributing to core SDK features, and collaborate effectively with the team on high-impact deliverables. Long-term success means becoming a key driver in architectural decisions, owning critical modules, and helping to evolve the SDK infrastructure to support Aura’s growth at scale.

You’ll work alongside top-tier Android engineers in a technically demanding environment where clean architecture, code quality, and innovation are the norm. Your contributions will directly impact product stability, performance, and developer experience.

This role offers a unique blend of technical challenge and strategic impact.

What you'll be doing

  • Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance SDK components that support modular application development at a global scale.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, QA engineers, and cross-functional R&D teams to ensure reliable SDK functionality.
  • Write high-quality Kotlin code with strong unit/instrumentation test coverage.
  • Document technical work, onboard new team members, and contribute to developer tooling to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in defining technical strategy, refactor legacy modules, and improve architecture for scalability and performance.

What we're looking for

  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin, including coroutines and asynchronous programming patterns.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain modular Android SDK components.
  • Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code with solid unit and instrumentation test coverage.
  • Proficiency in handling background tasks.
  • Solid understanding of Android internals, including AOSP documentation usage

You might also have

  • Experience building or maintaining Android SDKs used across multiple apps or teams
  • Familiarity with system or privileged apps, shell commands, or system-level permissions
  • Advanced Gradle skills, including Kotlin DSL and writing custom plugins
  • Hands-on experience with UI test frameworks like Kaspresso, Espresso, or UIAutomator
  • Exposure to modern Android development with Jetpack Compose and dependency injection
