The Functional Process Manager ATR role is key to successfully managing re-engineering of business processes within the ATR Domain. BPS have excellent visibility with senior stakeholders within the organization as also with other verticals considering the criticality of the projects in which they are involved. This requires significant process knowledge, SAP end to end experience and interpersonal skills. The role requires niche experience in industry benchmarks through exhaustive hands-on project and process implementations.

Process re-engineering

b. Act as a Level 2 support or escalation point for SMEs on process queries.

c. Create and Sign-off SOPs along with the respective functional product manager.

d. Strong focus around challenging the status quo within the business processes, financial reporting and SAP framework

e. Ability to provide a holistic solution whether that involves working with upgraded IT environment, legacy systems as well as new technology adoption

f. Independently drive changes to key business processes, SAP or other projects involving bringing in bolts-Ons to minimize inefficiencies in the existing landscape

g. Review and Sign-off important UATs and BRTs and act as a gatekeeper for the new solution that goes into production environments

h. Identifies new technologies that can cater to further improvement of processes

i. Drive financial transformations relating to organizational initiatives around system automation and process changes

j. Engage with senior stakeholders within the organization

k. Single point of contact for Application Managers (AMS) and other BPS leads

l. Knowledge of Business warehouse will be mandatory for an effective management review and financial close

Drive Standardization, compliance and adherence to controls

a. Develop and update Global process landscape & Standard Operating Procedures which act as significant source of guidance for the ATR

b. Developing processes to reduce exceptions and bringing continuous standardization in line with industry benchmarks

c. Communication with the organization emphasizing the drive for standardization & adherence to set controls. Open two-way communication with organization on any areas requiring further review

d. Critically review and assess the potential solutions whether within SAP or processes by thinking out of the box and moving away from stereotypes

Required experience & skills

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, or CPA or ACCA or MBA from premiere institute will be added advantage
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with large, global, multinational organizations
  • Deep understanding of end to end business continuum (value chain) of at least one industry (not just restricted to Finance)
  • Understanding of accounting processes covering revenue / cost recognition, BS reporting and consolidation processes. SAP: FI Proficient and Hands on exposure, Basic and Hands on experience with on tools like Robotics, Reconciliation tool is preferable
  • Strong understanding of finance and business drivers – preferably in shipping or related industry
  • Have the ability to manage change – understand concepts of change management with demonstrated capabilities
  • Able to consistently demonstrate & live cultural dimensions of Simplicity, Focus & Teamwork
  • Good team player and someone willing to work beyond known boundaries of capabilities
