Job Title: Fabricator - Window Builder

Job Description

As a fabricator, you will build commercial doors and windows with aluminum frames, utilizing your skills in reading blueprints, operating hand tools, drill presses, and installing hardware in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble commercial doors and windows using aluminum frames.
  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Use tape measures precisely to 1/32 of an inch.
  • Operate hand tools and drill presses effectively.
  • Install hardware in a shop setting.
  • Perform heavy lifting, including lifting up to 75 lbs several times an hour.
  • Use machines to cut materials with precision.
  • Pay strong attention to detail to avoid costly mistakes.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/32 of an inch.
  • Capability to lift 75 lbs multiple times an hour.
  • Proficiency in using machines for cutting materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience in construction, assembly, and using power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience operating cutting, fabricating, or polishing equipment.
  • Experience in metal fabrication using drill presses, bending equipment, and metal cutting.
  • Ability to notice scratches and make precise cuts.
  • Experience in construction is ideal.
  • Ability to work and think independently.
  • Pride in workmanship and attention to personal presentation.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a fab shop environment with a small team of 6-8 employees. Located in central Minnesota, the shop is the largest custom commercial doors, windows, and shower door installer in the region. Employees are expected to be well-rounded and adaptable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
