JOB SUMMARY

The Regional Sales Director will hold the responsibility to drive growth and profitability by managing a base of strategic accounts for the Fiber division, which entails not only leading the activities to make sure the annual budget goals are met, but also develop strategies and opportunities that secure Share of Wallet growth. Also, the position will develop new customers, leveraging the company’s portfolio and capabilities. In order to succeed on these responsibilities, this person will work directly with business and functional Fiber leaders in Customer Service, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations, and shall have an understanding of the packaging industry and the CPG world, and an existing base of contacts in the industry that allows the creation of new opportunities. Director will also provides direct support for other WA fiber sales resources; while partnering with Fiber VP of Operations to make business decisions that drive Fiber Sales & operational objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand each account and design strategies for total customer satisfaction, business retention and share of wallet growth.
  • Leverage contacts in the Food/CPG industry to create new opportunities and open new accounts for TekniPlex.
  • Leverage TekniPlex product portfolio and material science approach to create growth in existing and new accounts
  • Lead cross-functional efforts with Customer Service, R&D, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain (among others), to unlock value for customers and for TekniPlex
  • Develop and prepare short and long term sales forecasts, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Track and continuously improve our profitability by product family, SKU, customer and manufacturing location.
  • Provide and control pricing and credit terms, prepare quarterly price updates.
  • Review and ensure contracts execution, and negotiate contract renewals o a timely manner.
  • Bring insight from customers, competitors and the marketplace and create tangible actions that create opportunities and/or allow the company to better prepare for potential challenges.
  • Attend and represent Tekni-Plex at trade shows, expos, seminars, and customer functions.
  • Constant engagement in the assigned market segment to serve as Subject Matter Expert and adviser to the Business Unit about opportunities or challenges within this market.Lead, coordinate, and grow WA fiber business plan to ensure alignment with the corporate strategy, as well as the availability of the necessary resources to implement that strategy in the short and long term.
  • Partner with Fiber leadership & plant leaders to drive culture improvements – help to bring Tekni 6 Commitments into the workforce.
  • Coordinate the implementation of management and administration processes that generate efficiency and sustainability.
  • Ensure the entire logistical, tactical and strategic process of WA fiber sales/production in the best times, deadlines and costs, always taking into account the needs of our clients (internal and external).

EDUCATION/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Packaging industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience working with CPGs preferred
  • Minimum of 8-10 years industry experience or equivalent combination of education, and experience
  • Ability to travel between 30 %- 50% of the time
  • Knowledge of business management principles involved in strategic planning, lead generation, Sales KPIs and pricing
  • Ability to navigate Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem solving and leadership skills to quickly address customer concerns and tackle challenges: internal and from the marketplace.
  • Strong understanding of the TekniPlex products, processes and policies.
