We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Quality team!
As the Incoming QC Inspector, you will be responsible for the inspection and testing of incoming raw materials. This position reports to the Director of Quality
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspects incoming raw materials and components.
- Pulls sample according to SOPs for testing, 3rd party testing, and retention.
- Performs testing against material specifications.
- Review and approve supplier COA.
- Performs NIR testing for each raw material and reports results.
- Responsible for NIR raw material testing database and verification testing.
- Keep database for material sampled.
- Responsible for labelling materials on hold, quarantine, or rejected based on inspection results.
- Interface with department leaders/ managers and aid in problem solving.
- Work safely by following all safety standards and procedures.
- Implement and apply Lean concepts to all work-related activities.
- Be capable to perform some of your manager’s responsibilities through training as assigned.
- Report daily activities by email.
- Maintain an organized, clean work area.
- Knows general company policies and handbook policies.
- Attends weekly QA/QC training classes and aside training as required.
- Maintain a positive attitude, know company policies and be willing to follow them.
- Maintains excellent communication and relationships with other employees to foster team cohesion
- Additional duties may be assigned and/or required
Physical requirements:
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Personal Qualifications:
- Must be self-motivated and able to work under pressure and pay attention to detail.
- Must be able to communicate professionally and work with the entire PetIQ Manufacturing team for the
- success of the company.
- Must be willing to work the hours needed to accomplish critical items.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to adhere to schedule work hours
- Maintain proper hygiene
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions in English
Education Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
- Working knowledge of computer and mathematical skills needed.
Temporary Replacement:
- The temporary replacement for this position will be the QC Manager or delegated to trained and authorized personnel (cross trained personnel).
