Job Title: Manual Lathe Machinist

Job Description

The role involves operating multiple manual lathe machines throughout the shop to create and repair boat components. This position requires a mechanically inclined individual who owns a set of micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual lathe machines to create and repair boat components.
  • Set up machines according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Work with materials such as bearings, brass, iron, and duramax.
  • Measure accurately with precision tools, converting fractions to decimals.
  • Read and interpret machinist scales and blueprints.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in manual lathe machining.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Ability to measure with precision tools like micrometers and calipers.
  • Skill in converting fractions to decimals and reading machinist scales.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with various materials including bearings, brass, iron, and duramax.

Work Environment

This position is located in a boat yard where you will be working outside in varying conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow. Safety is paramount, and adherence to PPE requirements is mandatory, as violations lead to immediate termination. The second shift operates Monday through Friday, with potential assignments on weekends and overtime as required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hahnville, Louisiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
