Job Description

As a mechanical assembler, you will be responsible for installing and assembling equipment on work trucks, including beds, plows, tool boxes, and more. You will assemble tool boxes to the back of trucks, bolt on truck boxes, install mud flaps, mount crane holders and ramp holders, and install tail lights. Your role includes reading blueprints and work diagrams to install hydraulic equipment and parts on trucks, performing testing and inspections on all installations, and wiring as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Install and assemble equipment on work trucks.
  • Assemble and bolt tool boxes to trucks.
  • Install mud flaps, crane holders, ramp holders, and tail lights.
  • Read blueprints and work diagrams for hydraulic equipment installation.
  • Perform testing and inspections on all installations.
  • Conduct wiring tasks as required.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical aptitude in areas such as auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, military mechanics, industrial mechanics, construction heavy equipment operation, truck rebuilding, farm equipment maintenance, machine building, or crane installation.
  • Ability to read blueprints and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in using hand, power, and air tools.
  • Ownership of basic hand tools including sockets and SAE socket sets.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Must own steel or composite toe shoes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in 12V wiring is a plus.

Work Environment

This position offers a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity, with a pay range of $20-$25/hr based on experience. The work schedule is all day shift from 7am to 4pm, with openings for both heavy duty (more experienced) and light duty (less experienced) assemblers. The environment resembles a mechanic bay and can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
