WORK SCHEDULE

100% FTE – 40 hours per week

Day Shift – CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 – 15:00 (PST), Monday-Friday

Required participation in team on call schedule

THESE POSITIONS ARE 100% ONSITE (NO TELEWORK) AT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:

HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER

UWMC – MONTLAKE

UWMC – NORTHWEST

FLOAT – All Analysts are expected to float between the three medical centers, learning all three environments to be able to cover sick and vacations as needed

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze customer business and technical requirements and issues, recommending solutions

Design, build, test, and implement enhancements to meet functional requirements

Provide production support and ongoing system troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, and training

Manage projects, processes, and documentation to support customer needs

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

These are new roles and are not intended to be first call support, but an on-site secondary support resource dispatched only after primary assessments are performed

These onsite Analysts will act as a conduit for additional training and informatics resources, advise on adoption strategies, and inform hospital and ITS leaders on trends and future technological needs

The Analysts will endeavor to use excellent customer service skills to improve ITS partnership with Facilities, Clinical Engineering, and Nursing partners

Analysts will be rounding on floors and have regular attendance in the Daily Safety Brief (DSB) to assess unreported issues

TECHNOLOGIES YOU MAY WORK WITH

Telesitter – Replaces in-person “sitters”; the Telesitter system includes an Epic Monitor module running on a Nesa-provided cart that includes two-way audio-video as well as alarm notifications

Rauland Enterprise Nurse Call – Replaces a physical facilities-based nurse call systems based on buttons, lights, and tones; this modern enterprise nurse call system includes enterprise server infrastructure, software, and integrations to mobile phones

Midmark Staff Duress – Rauland Nurse Call integrated staff duress system

Strongline Staff Duress – Standalone temporary staff duress system implemented throughout HMC and utilized until the Midmark staff duress system is fully implemented

Care.AI Virtual Care – An integrated hardware and software platform that provides for two-way communication and ambient monitoring of patients in inpatient rooms

Sonifi with Epic integration – TV entertainment system expanding to provide care-related information fed by Epic

Dispatch – Vendor-provided tablet-based application to facilitate patients communicating simple needs such as ice, blanket, meal, etc.

Other Technologies will be added as needs are assessed over time

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Math, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience

Non-Epic “Ancillary” System experience REQUIRED

Epic experience a plus

2+ years’ experience must include the following:

1+ years providing EHR systems application maintenance/support

Familiarity with UW Medicine’s current IT and hospital infrastructure

Demonstrates a strong customer-oriented mindset, with excellent follow-through and experience building relationships, setting expectations, and collaborating across groups to ensure customers receive top quality service

Strong communication and people skills

1+ year experience with application/system configuration and implementation of clinical information systems (and/or healthcare applications)

Broad specialized skill set with experience working on devices such as cameras, TVs, video systems, and printers

Comfortable dealing with Charge RNs and administrator-level Operational Nursing leaders
