Change and Release Management Section (CRMS) within the Project Management Office (PMO). The PMO is a customer-focused unit providing oversight and support for IT projects that align with the strategic goals of the Department of Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal).
The ITS II leads the Change Request & Review Board (CRRB), a cross-functional team overseeing system changes and break-fixes through the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) and PHIRE platforms before production deployment. The ITS II ensures consistency and quality across the change and release lifecycle by applying FI$Cal’s standardized project management practices and the California Project Management Framework (CA-PMF).
Responsibilities include gathering and documenting requirements, facilitating meetings, coordinating with development and business teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering status updates to executive leadership. The ITS II also creates and maintains audit-ready documentation and provides coaching and strategic guidance to staff. While focused on IT project management, duties may include work in other domains as needed.

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees currently required to work in-person at least two days per week. In alignment with Executive Order N-22-25, FI$Cal employees will be required to work in-person at least four days per week. FI$Cal’s office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA 95815.
Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required prior to appointment. Relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.
