Job Title: Deburring Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Deburring Machine Operator, you will be responsible for meticulously removing burrs from plastic and metal gears using a variety of tools, including brushes, red wheels, and files. Your role is essential in ensuring the precision and quality of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand job traveler work instructions regarding deburring processes.
  • Utilize various methods to remove burrs from gears, including filing and brushing.
  • File parts on the lathe with precision.
  • Use buffer machines effectively.
  • Understand and be aware of machinery capabilities and limitations.
  • Correctly fill out all necessary paperwork and documentation.
  • Accurately count parts and ensure proper time input per job.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Exercise care when handling parts to prevent damage.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in deburring, particularly on a 3rd shift.
  • Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of all departmental machine capabilities.
  • Material handling skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to grasp parts against the burr wheel for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in performing visual inspections using eye loops, the naked eye, and other inspection tools.

Work Environment

You will work in a facility with controlled temperatures and a noise intensity level that is loud at times. You may occasionally be exposed to fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and moving mechanical parts. Work shifts include 1st Shift from 6am to 4:30pm and 2nd "3rd" Shift from 10pm to 6am, Sunday through Thursday, with a 15% shift premium.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roscoe, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $22.00/hr.
