We’re hiring Advanced Shipfitters with Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) experience to join our team in Goose Creek, SC. If you're a shipfitter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality environment, this is the job for you!

???? Job Description:

As an Advanced Shipfitter, you’ll bring your expertise in structural fabrication and welding to a dynamic shipbuilding environment. This role is ideal for as hipfitter with at least four years of industrial or commercial experience, especially in structural stick welding.

????️ Responsibilities:

• Perform multi-pass stick weld tests like a true shipfitter.
• Use oxygen/propane burning torches to cut and shape materials—just another day in the life of a shipfitter.
• Heat materials with precision using oxygen/propane heating torches.
• Read and interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches—skills every great shipfitterneeds.
• Measure and lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly like a seasoneds hipfitter.
• Assemble structural components with accuracy and quality.
• Work in physically demanding environments typical for a shipfitter—shipyards, steel fabrication shops, and more.
• Follow OSHA regulations and safety protocols relevant to shipbuilding.
• Operate vibratory tools such as grinders and needle guns—tools of the shipfitter trade.

✅ Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience as structural fabricator.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Strong stick welding and torch-handling skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
