Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

Join a leading provider of precision stainless and specialty alloy tubing products, serving diverse industries such as power generation, renewable energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, food and dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and general commercial sectors. As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in operating the Mill machine, transforming metal into pipe form with precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Mill machine to bend metal into pipe form.
• Change out metal rolls, which may need to be replaced every 2-12 hours.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor mechanical repairs, quality checks, and adjustments on the machines.
• Understand 3-phase, 480-volt systems to identify when major electrical repairs are needed.
• Perform minor welding (training provided) to connect metal strips.
• Conduct basic preventative maintenance on the machine.

Essential Skills

• Experience with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems creatively.
• At least 2 years of experience in troubleshooting and running machinery.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, hand tools, and power tools.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including welding and fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in machining, maintenance, mechanics, or fabrication is highly preferred.
• Ability to think outside the box and solve complex problems.

Work Environment

Work the B shift from Monday to Thursday, 5 PM to 5 AM, in a non-union shop with roughly 100 employees spread across four shifts. Enjoy a very safe and friendly workplace. Training lasts 3-6 months, during which full support is provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Janesville, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
