Job Title: Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to join our team on the 2nd shift. In this role, you will machine details from plate or flat stock according to blueprints to exact dimensions, producing hot runners for the plastic injection industry. These components consist of various materials including steel, copper, nickel, and more. You will operate a Haas 3-axis Lathe, perform setup, execute tool changes, edit G&M codes for feeds and speeds, and conduct quality inspections using micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and edit programs on Haas 3-axis Lathe.
  • Set up and perform tool changes as needed.
  • Edit G&M codes for optimal feeds and speeds.
  • Conduct quality inspections of each part using micrometers and calipers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and measuring tools accurately.
  • Replace tool inserts when required.
  • Measure parts to maintain conformance.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Work independently within a dynamic environment.

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding of G&M codes.
  • Ability to program on the CNC from a print using templates, macros, and parametric setups.
  • Great setup skills for lot sizes typically under five.
  • 3 years of CNC Lathe setup and operation experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and digital micrometers and calipers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
