The Regional Sales Manager will oversee a team of Territory Sales Managers in Connecticut, responsible for recruiting, coaching, supporting, as well as manage their own portfolio of independent agents in New York The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial leader with established, long-standing relationships with insurance agents in both states. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing both short- and long-term agency marketing strategies to drive agent acquisition, strengthen retention, and ensure responsive service.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish Plymouth Rock’s presence in the states of Connecticut and New York.
  • Produce profitable premium volume to exceed company profitability goals.
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure, identify, and capitalize upon agent production opportunities.
  • Hire, train, develop, and motivate agent focused Territory Sales Mangers.
  • Monitor competitor activity and mitigate competitive pressures.
  • Partner with agency personnel to implement Plymouth Rock specific marketing plans.
  • Facilitate consistent communication between other Territory Sales Managers and effectively deliver accurate and concise reporting to our agency partners and Plymouth Rock stakeholders.
  • Manage Salesforce documentation, monthly reporting, and important partner updates to be shared with the internal team on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide meaningful recommendations and positively influence decision making using a data drive market approach:
  • Positively influence agent behaviors by providing important learnings and recommendations, supported by proven results.
  • Develop and regularly maintain annual business plans for assigned partners in coordination with the account team.
  • Effectively present and communicate the Plymouth Rock vision and value proposition to current and prospective partners through verbal and written presentations. Must be comfortable presenting to large audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to address service issues. Collaborate closely with appropriate internal staff to align solutions and communicate resolutions with agents.
  • Maintain thorough and in-depth knowledge of all Plymouth Rock company products, offerings, guidelines, and procedures. Provide training for rollover, new business submissions, and company philosophy. Analyze internal changes and clearly communicate impact to staff, as well as the organization.
  • Provide relevant and detailed competitor learnings and observations.
  • Prospect new agents or location opportunities within newly acquired agents or large networks.

Travel will be required within our six-state region (MA, CT, NH, NJ, PA, NY), as well as occasionally (limited) to other areas of the continental US.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Proven creative and innovative marketing executive.
  • Possesses strong motivational and team building skills.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated success using information technology tools such as social networking techniques to increase sales.
  • Superior oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Property & Casualty knowledge in particular Personal Lines Automobile insurance
  • Sound underwriting, pricing, policy service, and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate complex information and make appropriate decisions.
  • 5+ Years of Field Sales/Marketing experience working with Independent Agents required, Leadership experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and/or a minimum of 5 years of overall Insurance experience required.
  • Strong Personal Lines product knowledge preferred.
  • CIC or CPCU designations a plus
  • Reside in the Eastern New York or Western Connecticut area.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
