Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler

Job Description

As a Forklift Operator and Material Handler, you will operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, moving them to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, as well as into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities. You will handle construction materials such as shingles, plywood, insulation, and plumbing supplies. Inventory counts and maintenance will be managed using a scan gun. Collaborate with warehouse associates to provide accurate and speedy customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts to load and unload materials.
  • Manage inventory counts and maintenance using an RF scanner.
  • Provide customer service as needed.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and drive a box truck, with the potential for early starts and late finishes.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to enhance customer service.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience as a forklift operator.
  • Experience in warehouse settings.
  • Proven attention to detail, teamwork, and reliability.
  • Experience using an RF scanner gun.
  • Ability to unload trailers by hand and lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1 year of box truck driving experience preferred.
  • Flexibility on working hours, including early starts and late finishes.
  • Ability to commute to various locations as required.

Work Environment

The position is based in a smaller but high-performing branch office. The standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4:30 pm, averaging 45-48 hours per week. Flexibility is required for start and end times, with potential early starts at 4 am or 5 am when driving.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eugene, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.
