Course Instructor (BLS/ACLS/PALS)

Overview

The main responsibility of the Course Instructor (BLS/ACLS/PALS) is to deliver American Heart Association and First Responder training programs offered through the University Hospital Community Training Center. This role involves actively engaging students in the classroom and collaborating with BLS/ACLS/PALS coordinators and staff to maintain high-quality instruction. The instructor also supports the operations of the Community Training Center and assists the Administrative Director as needed.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Instruct American Heart Association (AHA) courses including BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • Teach First Responder training programs offered by the University Hospital Community Training Center.
  • Facilitate effective learning experiences in a classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with BLS/ACLS/PALS coordinators and staff to ensure high-quality course delivery.
  • Support the daily operations of the Community Training Center (CTC).
  • Assist the Administrative Director with various tasks as needed.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Certifications:
    • BLS Instructor certifications required
    • PALS and ACLS Instructor certification preferred
  • Education:
    • Associate’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent preferred
    • Paramedic certification preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching BLS, ACLS, PALS, and First Responder courses preferred
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support educational development
  • Availability:
    • Must be available to work evenings and weekends when courses are scheduled

Compensation

The expected hourly range for this position is XH/99H: $38.48 (BLS) $40 (ACLS) per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
