Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing for our Public Relations department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing, you will:
- Develop and implement a formal, integrated brand strategy to clarify and advance AHC’s organizational identity in the marketplace; broaden awareness of its programs, services and priorities; and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences, internal & external.
- Create public relations/marketing strategies that will allow AHC’s leadership to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences.
- Build relationships with the key media outlets to advance AHC’s position with relevant constituents, as well as to drive broader awareness, preference, and support for AHC’s Mission.
- Develop a digital strategy, including website and social media platforms, that supports AHC’s brand strategy and the healthcare system's strategic plan, driving engagement, consideration, and lead generation.
- Identify emerging issues faced by AHC, including situations requiring a crisis response. Work with the leadership team and PR & Marketing staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
- Create and manage a comprehensive internal communication strategy to engage and inform all AHC team members with consistent and clear communication, including affiliated medical staff, community physicians, and members of the AHC clinically integrated network. Develop internal communication brand standards.
- Develop and execute communications plans in support of major business and organizational initiatives such as acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, new service and facility launches, and leadership and organizational changes
- Oversee the development of all internal and external print and electronic communications; manage relationships with associated internal/external communications vendors
- Exercise judgment to prioritize media opportunities and prepare talking points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting material as needed
- Maintain effective relationships and work collaboratively with other leaders, departments, and service areas in support of ongoing and special needs requiring communications support
- Develops and leads a highly performing team of marketing and PR professionals. • Provides direct reports and team members with clear expectations and timely performance feedback.
Qualifications include:
- Develops people and organizations- Able to mentor and transform the performance of teams and individuals
- Drives Mission Centric Performance - Able to execute on excellent collaboration and communication with both internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Focuses on Community and Mission- develops and maintains relationships with the community while ensuring a culture of engagement
- Develops robust strategies aligned with the AHC Mission and strategic plan, through strategic and innovative thinking to ensure success
- Leads with courage and decisiveness, establishes guiding principles for decisions using ethical behavior and social responsibility
- Able to prioritize and use performance improvement to develop solutions
- Maintains a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates staff
- Master’s degree in any area associated with Public Relations, Marketing, or Communication. Additional MBA or MHA preferred.
- 15+ years of public relations and/or marketing experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management role

$226,495.30 - $339,742.95
If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:

Tobacco and Drug Statement
