Job Duties
- System Administration - Administrate the full lifecycle of hardware and\or software technologies used. Including the initial configuration, upgrades/updates, service uptime, security control configuration, backups, disaster recovery, monitoring, and decommissioning of the services the administrator supports.
- Project Design, Planning & Implementation - Execute project planning and solution design work for larger issues/tasks in the environment.
- Technical Leadership - Assist with prioritizing the work for the team, maintain a project roadmap, oversee/approve solutions architecture for projects, develop process\procedure, and provide mentorship to the team
- Research, Training and Self-Study - Research and evaluate software and applications relevant to systems supported. Perform on going self-study of job-related issues including functions of the systems/applications assigned. Conduct and /or attend both formal and informal computer training as it relates to systems/applications supported. Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-7 years’ related experience
- Associate degree (Information Technology Field)
- Non-degree considered if 6+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED
- Occasional travel (0-5%)
- Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
- Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday
- Per 8-hour shift. Sit 8 hours and stand 0 hours. Typical office environment (low noise level, limited exposure hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, and vibrations). Regular interaction with others and performs a degree of independent work. Physical and mental demands are akin to the majority of office positions with prolonged periods of sitting and prolonged use of a computer/keyboard. Infrequent lifting, walking and climbing stairs. Occasional use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Suitable work experience and skill level can be substituted for education. Familiarity with Windows Server and\or Unix Operating systems strongly desired. Some or all these key technologies in scope for supporting are:
- Storage Area Networks, Compute, Virtualization platforms, backup solutions
- Windows Server, Linux, HP-UX Operating Systems
- Authentication Services, DNS, DHCP, File\Print\Terminal Services
- Web platforms\services, Certificate management, & Web Security
- Microsoft Office 365 Services, Email best practices, & PowerShell scripting language
