The Virtual Networking Data plane group within OCI builds highly customizable Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN) data plane services on industry leading programmable SmartNICs/DPUs, offering our customers predictable performance, secure isolation, and high availability. We are amid a generational transformation at OCI and are looking for exceptional systems engineering talent to join us on this journey.

These are exciting times, and our team is undergoing rapid growth while working on many new ambitious initiatives. We are looking for SREs (Site Reliability Engineers) to join the VCN Platform Engineering team. The team owns the tooling and infrastructure to support the development of software that implements the Software Defined Network (SDN) for all OCI customers. This function is at the heart of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s offering, and you will make a significant, daily impact on the quality of OCI cloud technologies.

As a Site Reliability Engineer in VCN Platform Engineering team, you will be required to:

1. Automate and maintain build and test systems including systems for performance and scalability testing.
2. Maintain and build new technologies to support our distributed fleet of Linux systems. This includes distributed deployment and monitoring tooling.
3. Improve efficiency of the deployment processes across a fast-growing number of regions through automation and scale improvements to tools and dashboards.
4. Improve our operational capabilities by developing tools, runbooks, alarming.
5. Participate in our on-call rotation which requires monitoring our fleet and associated services.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
