Distribution Supervisor (Full Time) - Brampton, ON

We are looking for a highly motivated, talented, and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to support the day to day operations of our ISO 9001 certified Brampton Distribution Centre. In this role you will be responsible for supervising all activities and improvement initiatives by directing and assisting in the receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and shipping of goods, in a professional and consistent manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and organizes all daily functions of the warehouse including: receiving, warehousing, inventory control, picking/packing, shipping, staff supervision, task scheduling, and more.
  • Continuously strives for performance and process improvements and leads efforts and ideas for new projects that drive success and results.
  • Responsible for productivity initiatives: Overtime reduction, courier negotiations, temporary labour, etc.
  • Takes a lead by example approach by training, coaching, and providing day to day direction of team members to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy, which includes managing physical inventories and cycle counts
  • Completes inventory adjustments, discrepancy reports, and root cause analysis
  • Leads surplus inventory reduction efforts (requires collaboration with branch personnel and sales teams)
  • Involved in optimization of replenishment path logistics.
  • Monitors and reports to senior management on warehouse KPIs: Stock turns, fill rates, lines picked, etc.
  • Maintains electronic and manual documents, files, and records to ensure proper documentation of inventory, items received, and shipped.
  • Keeps warehouse safe, clean, and organized, and identifies the need for repairs and/or maintenance requirements.
  • Drives compliance with safety, quality, and productivity goals in support of supply chain and distribution leadership team objectives.
  • Resolution of all supplier and carrier issues
  • Completes all monthly warehouse inspections and Safety Trainings
  • Consistently puts safety at the forefront of all daily activities and ensures that all staff adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
  • Will be a critical support for the implementation of a new Vertical Lift Module inventory system in 2021.
  • Required to work closely with Procurement, Purchasing, Product Management, Retail Branches, and Sales

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 3+ yrs experience in a similar role such as warehouse management or distribution/supply chain.
  • Deep understanding of logistics and inventory management.
  • Previous experience leading a team of direct reports.
  • Strong understanding of Excel and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proven ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Experience with JDE an asset.
  • Experience in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certified an asset.
