Your role

The Scheduling Assistant is responsible for creating and coding the schedule in the scheduling system based on various documents provided, such as programming grids, promotional schedules, show rundowns, etc. The Scheduling Assistant is also responsible for liaising with the various departments affected by these changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and review documentation and information from various sources to identify and validate data relevant to programming plans, programming grids, schedules, promotional content, sales, rundowns, broadcasting details, distribution, subtitling, etc.
  • Create and code, according to the information received, the programming grid or schedule, promotional time slots, sales slots, subtitling, etc., including all relevant information (e.g. title, repeat, original, duration, commercials, dates, times, promo info, IDs, pauses, show codes, automation switching codes, distribution and broadcast codes, etc.); ensure follow-up, make necessary corrections, and notify relevant departments.
  • Analyze the impacts of schedule or programming changes and make necessary adjustments; ensure follow-up, implement corrections, and notify relevant departments.
  • Code shows according to CRTC standards in order to determine the percentage of Canadian content, identify show categories and more; ensure follow-up and necessary corrections; based on broadcast data, prepare the final schedule confirmation for CRTC reporting.
  • Complete appropriate forms and documentation; prepare correspondence and required reports based on information in order to ensure proper follow-up.
  • Help train others by explaining tasks related to this position.

Your profile:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) or more years of relevant experience in related tasks
  • Knowledge of On Air and WideOrbit scheduling software is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Radio-Canada Television programming, specialty channels, and radio stations

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve a variety of problems while proposing original solutions
  • Enjoys tasks requiring precision and attention to detail
  • Good stress management and ability to work under pressure
  • Experience analyzing various documents and entering data across multiple system interfaces is a strong asset
  • High ability to learn new software programs (internal systems) and technical concepts
  • Proficiency with Windows, MS Office, and Google environments
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French
