Grill Cook, Full-Time (University of Charleston)

The University of Charleston is looking for an energetic and optimistic team member to fill the role of Grill Cook.

Primary Functions:

  • Responsible for customer service, food preparation, cooking to customer’s order and cleanliness of the dining location.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cooks menu items to customer’s order
  • Preparation of other food items directed by General Manager or Chef
  • Maintains proper grill cooking temperatures
  • Ensures proper sanitations of grill area and surrounding kitchen
  • Uses proper portioning
  • Answers customer questions accurately on menu items
  • Restocks and cleans up grill station at end of service period
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Job Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Able to read, write and perform basic math
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be customer-oriented, organized and detail oriented
  • Able to occasionally lift 30 pounds
  • Must be able to move through the kitchen/grill area to retrieve/gather supplies and equipment
  • Bending, standing, moving, carrying, writing, lifting, reaching
  • High standard of personal hygiene
