Responsible for management and control of all door and frame processes and products at the location and ensures that all procedures surrounding inventory control are properly executed. Works to achieve optimized inventory levels. Projects future usage changes and understands their impact. Sources/Releases work orders to Shop Foreman. Coordinates with internal and external customers regarding material orders and delivery dates.

Essential Functions

  • Review/adjust detailed PO costs for completeness and accuracy
  • Check project master for special quote numbers, terms, etc.
  • Review vendor PO cost with detailed cost
  • Update sales order before each sourcing session
  • Source all material to PO’s as requested and transmit PO and supporting documents to vendor
  • Enter all order acknowledgements; verify costing, enter promise dates, order #, etc.
  • Order stock wood doors, stock hollow metal, and associated items
  • Manage Expense Item Inventory in conjunction with Shop Foreman
  • Source or alternate source material to be pulled from stock
  • Create work orders and send to shop foreman with only materials requiring fabrication (door and frame shop)
  • Review anticipated labor hours and source for in house production or direct shipment to site by manufacturer
  • Answer manufacturers questions
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • College Degree preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, ERP systems, etc.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good communication skills
  • Basic math skills and data input skills
  • General knowledge of commercial doors, frames, and hardware
  • Familiarity with general commercial construction practices

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and walk for much of the day. Ability to lift 5-25 pounds frequently and ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Worker is subject to frequent heavy lifting and operation of forklift.
