Planner

Immediate opportunities are available for detail-oriented and proactive Production Planners to join the Johnson Controls team. As a Planner, you will be responsible for managing finished goods production schedules, inventory planning, and material coordination to support efficient manufacturing and high service levels. This position ensures seamless day-to-day operations on the manufacturing floor, focusing on inventory accuracy, order readiness, and timely production execution.

Pay

$20.00/hr + $1.25 shift differential

Schedule

1:30 PM - 10 PM

What You’ll Do:

  • Schedule production for assigned finished goods to meet demand and maintain safety stock levels.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to validate work orders and sequence builds.
  • Ensure timely deployment of finished goods across the plant’s network with a focus on meeting service goals.
  • Monitor incoming purchased parts and validate key components are available for scheduled builds.
  • Adjust production schedules in response to supply, staffing, or order changes.
  • Collaborate with material planners to support new product launches and schedule first runs.
  • Proactively identify risks to service levels and work cross-functionally to resolve them.
  • Attend daily scheduling meetings and communicate schedule updates to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve scheduling processes in partnership with the Planning Supervisor.

What We Look For:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • SAP, Excel, and Outlook experience preferred
  • Prior manufacturing or planning experience
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work 100% on the manufacturing floor in a physical, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to walk and stand throughout an 8+ hour shift on the production floor
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required while on the manufacturing floor

Training:

  • Hands-on training provided on 1st shift for the first 2–4 weeks before transitioning to 2nd shift
