Job Description Summary:

The key parameter behind the Aviagen success as primary leader in poultry breeder business is maintaining good bird health. Veterinarian is sole responsible to make sure the flock health to bringing in good production by which making sure the customer satisfaction in the supply of quality breeder chicks. Monitoring and implementation of standard procedures for flock health and monitoring program to the flock is the core responsibility of the veterinarian.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for all aspects of poultry health management of internal Broiler Breeder flocks which are in line with internal standards laid by Aviagen.
  • Keeping flocks in good health status and designing programs that keeps up the good health status which includes vaccination schedules, biosecurity protocols, C&D schedules, etc.
  • Working closely with required teams to ensure flock health performances are monitored for required parameters and ensuring the required Bio-security and welfare standards are practised.
  • Continuous review of biosecurity practices through audits and check on procedures to establish very high standards of biosecurity within the premise.
  • Review of biosecurity practices and make necessary changes based on situation and challenges.
  • Collaborating with multiple teams to address all health related issues to birds including day old chicks at hatchery.
  • Maintaining and optimizing Avian health standards through continuous monitoring which includes conducting routine post mortem, vaccination audits in cooperation with Company Veterinarian.
  • Ability to support & mentor farms to enable the optimization of Aviagen’s health program
  • Becoming familiar with veterinary laboratory diagnostic tests, interpreting results, and communicating with the laboratory and quality assurance teams.
  • To keep fully updated on disease situations and challenges in the region and proactively designing or updating the biosecurity protocols to protect our internal flocks.
  • Planning ,usage and monitoring and fiscal inventory control of all the Veterinary products and Veterinary Biologicals
  • Assisting in liaising with Government authorities on Compartment status inspection and certification, Import & Export of Genetic stocks.
  • Actively involved in coordination with government authorities related with compartmentalisation certification inspections and animal husbandry authorities for import or export documents related process.
  • Submit monthly reports and required updates.
  • Supervise Approximately 4 Staff

Additional Qualifications:

  • Veterinary qualification with MVSC (Preferred)/BVSc
  • Strong technical and veterinary background
  • Good verbal and written communication and computer skills
  • Skilled in influencing and persuading others
  • Well organized and self - reliant with high standard of integrity and professionalism
