McCain Foods (Canada) – Florenceville Potato Plant is currently looking for a Full Time Cutter Deck Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand and abide by H.A.C.C.P regulations concerning sanitation and critical control points
• Must be willing to cross-train in other areas, example ADR’s
• Follow all Best Operating Procedures
• Pre-start up operational checks of cutters
• Operation of machinery, lubrication and any other duties as assigned
• Successful changeover and operation of cutter systems
• Quality checks of machine operations and materials including but not limited to bearing condition, pressure gauges and condition of belts
• Maintaining cleaning and 5S of work area
• Filling out paperwork accurately
• Preforming tests on the line required by BOP standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 or GED
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Must be able to work in a temperature varying environment
• Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
• Must have good decision and trouble shooting skills
• Willing to work shift work and weekends
• Must have own transportation and be available to come to work on short notice
• Will be required to be involved in plant sanitation, and clean-up shifts
• Must possess good communication skills and be able to record legible results
• Knowledge of computer operations an asset
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly
• Ability to accept and embrace change in the day-to-day operations
• All other duties as assigned

Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate “safety first.” Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.
