The Stopford Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories (SUGT) is a large suite of labs which supports practical teaching for all undergraduate students within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health. This team also provides technical support to the Clinical Skills Learning Centre (CSLC) within Centre for Medical Education, also in the Stopford Building. We are looking to appoint a term-time only (39 weeks per year, pro rata) Teaching Technician to support a service which values the student experience above all else.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking individual with a scientific background and ideally some specific skills/experience relating to human physiology e.g. sport science/medicine/physiology. The main purpose of the role is to work alongside technical colleagues to provide technical support as required for the preparation of practical classes, predominantly within the CSLC but also within SUGT labs, according to operational need. A key aspect of the role will be to ensure that stocks of equipment and consumables are maintained and available as required, depending on the skills being taught. Housekeeping and an adherence to good laboratory Health & safety are both important aspects of the role.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking individual with a good scientific background to join a busy team of technical staff who are dedicated to delivering a top-notch student experience.

N.B. The role is a 2-year fixed term position, pending the outcome of a review of the technical service provision across the Faculty.
