Job Title: HCC Coordinator (Medical Records)

Location: North Hollywood, CA (100% Onsite)

Department: HCC / STAR Program

Employment Type: 3 month contract with potential for FTE role

Pay: $21/hr

Position Summary:

The HCC Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the HCC/STAR team by managing medical record workflows, coordinating with provider offices, and ensuring accurate documentation for risk adjustment and audit readiness. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow their career in healthcare administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate scanning team visits to provider offices for medical record retrieval.
  • Collaborate with our Provider Network and internal departments to streamline medical record collection.
  • Upload and manage medical records using internal systems such as iCode.
  • Prepare, archive, and track medical records for audits and storage.
  • Generate and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track project activities and team metrics. (Provided templates to work off of)
  • Make outbound calls to provider offices and internal departments to request or clarify documentation.
  • Learn and utilize key software tools including iCode, EZCap, and Access Express.
  • Support coders by scanning and preparing materials.
  • Assist with photocopying, scanning, faxing, and occasional in-person record pickups.

Qualifications:

  • Entry-level; prior experience in medical records or healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Data entry and administrative support
  • Outbound calling and provider communication
  • Project coordination and documentation tracking
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
