Description

About the Role

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to own one of our fastest‑growing product lines in the Legal vertical. You’ll work across web and backend services, optimizing performance, integrating disparate systems, and steering technical change that unlocks the next growth phase.

If you thrive on bringing clarity to a complex domain, enjoy connecting systems, and like seeing your work move the business needle, we’d love to talk.

Responsibilities

Architecture & Delivery

Evaluate current systems and emerging business needs, propose and design new architectural components, and shepherd them from Proposal → implementation → rollout. Scale existing services for higher throughput and reliability while paying down technical debt

Technical Execution

Write and review code daily (JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, Python). Keep quality high through automated tests and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines.

Road‑mapping

Work with product and business stakeholders to scope, prioritize, and sequence initiatives that cut across multiple systems. Translate ideas into actionable engineering plans.

Incident Communication

When issues arise, orchestrate root‑cause analysis and share clear, timely updates with stakeholders.

Mentorship & Culture

Set crisp technical expectations, give regular feedback, and cultivate a culture of ownership, accountability, and experimentation without excessive process.

Qualifications

Must‑Have

  • Engineering Management: You must have experience managing engineering teams for at least three years.
  • Full‑stack proficiency:
    • Frontend – modern JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one major framework (React, Vue, or similar).
    • Backend – solid PHP experience building and maintaining production APIs or services. Familiarity with Python is a plus.
  • Systems integration chops: designed and shipped interfaces (REST, GraphQL, webhooks, message queues) that stitch multiple services together.
  • Data analytics fluency: comfortable defining metrics, writing SQL, interpreting dashboards, and using data to guide technical decisions.
  • Delivery track record: shipped and scaled production features end‑to‑end, managing technical debt pragmatically.
  • Cross‑functional savvy: translate business requirements into technical plans and communicate technical capabilities and limitations in business language.

Nice‑to‑Have

  • Comfortable shipping applications and services on a Docker + Kubernetes stack.
  • Familiarity with marketing & performance‑marketing concepts (attribution, funnel KPIs, ROAS) and the analytics platforms that support them (GA, GTM, SEM).
  • Experience with compliance frameworks (PII, PHI, HIPAA, HITECH).
  • Exposure to experimentation frameworks and A/B testing.

How We Work

  1. Own the Outcome – take initiative and drive features over the finish line.
  2. Move with Purpose – iterate quickly, but invest when it matters.
  3. Communicate Clearly – surface risks, trade‑offs, and progress early.
  4. Raise the Bar – propose improvements and inspire excellence.
  5. Leverage AI – use AI tools to code, test, analyze, and learn faster.

Sound like a fit? Let’s start a conversation and explore how you can help shape what comes next.
