Role Summary:
The Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation Engineer will oversee all Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) aspects of engineering related to dry vacuum pump and liquid ring pump/compressor systems to ensure all project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget and schedule are met.
Your role:
- Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation specifications ensuring global standards and safety codes are adhered to.
- Development of electrical schematics, BOMs, control panel drawings, junction boxes and ladder logic diagrams.
- Review and approve electrical designs including drawings and BOMs.
- Direct designers and technicians from conceptual design through production and testing.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines and other departments including purchasing, QA, and production.
- Assist in developing control narratives or sequences of operations.
- Review quotations and proposals from vendors.
- Provide input for electrical, instrumentation, and controls sections of the IOM manuals for end users.
Your profile:
- Degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial electrical design, preferably chemical, oil & gas sectors.
- Instrumentation including control valves, flow meters and transmitters (pressure, temperature and level).
- Knowledge of instrumentation, electrical and controls.
- Versed on the relevant national and international standards as they apply to electrical, instrumentation and controls.
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, CSA, FM, and UL. P&IDs, process flow diagrams, electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams.
- E-Plan, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, fieldbus topology.
- Demonstrated experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Basic knowledge of information technology tools including Windows, Microsoft Office products and other related tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to apply technology to creatively solve problems that meet business and stakeholder needs.
- Flexible concerning working hours & willing to travel for planned visits or to overcome unexpected issues (up to 15%) if any.
- Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams with culturally diverse membership.
- Ability to work without close supervision and accomplish assignments of high quality and on time.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
