The Store Manager is responsible for the overall operation of a convenience store. You ensure a clean, pleasant, and safe place for the employees and the customer. You set the example through the effective execution of established leadership principles to make Jacksons a great place to work. You are accountable for ensuring maximum sales and profitability through effective merchandising, inventory management, expense control, and managing operating costs and shrinkage.

What you'll do as a Store Manager:
- Provide exceptional service while being courteous and always greeting and thanking all customers Handle customer complaints in a professional manner.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise store personnel, manager performance, and recommend/initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions including separation of employment.
- Follow, interpret, and enforce company policy and procedures with employees. Ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations.
- Ensure proper sanitation and food handling/prep/storage/disposal procedures are followed.
- Maintain interior/exterior cleanliness including islands, and pumps and supply stock of carwash, where applicable.
- Restock shelving, displays, and coolers as needed; transferring product to keep store out of stocks to a minimum.
- Clean fast- food area, equipment, and stock as needed.
- Generate weekly work schedules and direct the store workforce and approve the hours of work for Payroll. Ensure no one works off the clock and any overtime worked is authorized and paid. Ensure banking hours are recorded and paid accurately.
- Monitor all financial transactions for the store daily. Identify reasons for cash or inventory shortages. Immediately report any unexplained or excessive cash or inventory losses to the DM.
- Understand and execute the smart safe procedures or in the absence of a smart safe, make daily bank deposits at the end of your shift, except on the weekend when the Assistant Manager or other authorized person is doing the deposit. Make safe drops as per company policies.
- Ensure weekly product orders are prepared and submitted on time. Reconcile order deliveries against the orders submitted.
- Ensure all weekly financial reports, including payroll, are completed, and submitted to Corporate on time.
- Utilize and provide appropriate training to team on the IT Support system to report various items of concern and maintenance needs.
- Effectively manage foodservice and beverage programs to ensure maximization of sales and minimizing loss.
- Participate in monthly manager meetings and execute effective monthly store meetings.
- Review surveillance video periodically and to investigate specific incidents.
- Be safety/security conscious, adhere to the guidelines in the Safety Manual, and respond to any accidents or incidents immediately that occur on the premises. Investigate and gather all pertinent information regarding customer and employee incidents/accidents. Be available to respond to emergencies at any time.
- Enter all sales in the register at the time of sale. Operate cash register and other store equipment.
- Prepare cashier checkout and report accurately and according to policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
You'll be a great fit if you have:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ months of experience as an Assistant Manager or equivalent experience and completion of prescribed company training programs.
- 2+ years’ experience in a manager or supervisor role; preferably in a retail or food service environment.
- Must be legal age to sell/stock Alcohol.
- A valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Food handler card as required my city, county, or state.
- Strong attention to detail and history of being self-motivated.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
- Environmental conditions include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor exposure from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
