Police Clerk and Typist (District A-7)

Overview:

This is a provisional appointment.

Under general supervision, the Police Clerk & Typist will be assigned to District A-7.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Typing reports, letters, memorandums, and other correspondence.
  • Data entry.
  • Answering telephone inquiries.
  • Giving information to the public over the phone and in person.
  • Maintaining files and records.
  • Addressing and mailing correspondence.
  • Performing related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have at least two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in administrative office work.
  • It is strongly preferred that all applicants have proficiency with Microsoft applications and Google Suite.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.

CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK REQUIRED

A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST IS REQUIRED

BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
