Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is seeking a Safeguards & Security - Planning and Ops Specialist to assist 9240 management team in implementing, ensuring performance and compliance in operations to include program management, risk management, requirements management, performance monitoring metrics, self-assessments, and corrective actions to ensure effective and efficient processes and policies are effectively managed and implemented.

Responsibilities
- Project Management and business attributes to include a financial understanding in running program and projects.
- Use systems and process methodologies to provide input for optimizing programs, policy, and functions.
- Integrate and work closely with other colleagues to establish an understanding of the different work processes across the department.
- Gain knowledge and experience across a very broad range of security fields.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve programs, methods, and tools for collecting operations-related data, data analysis, trending, program management and performing data analyzes for recommendations to management.
- Familiar with Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration, and other Federal Requirements and Policies.
- Knowledgeable with DOE security requirements and policies and how they are applied onsite/remote to ensure compliance.
- Oversees Inventory Control/Asset Control systems parts, material, equipment, and asset processes to include: 21 step Purchase Order “swim lane” tracking/notification, counterfeit inspections, administers and maintains internal Inventory Control/Asset Control databases, consults with project leads and schedules for parts, material, and equipment delivery, and coordinates the identification, decommissioning, and the proper disposal of legacy project parts, material, and equipment.
- Provides initial and refresher PO process training to fellow peers and works with Procurement personnel in the proper review/approval of Purchase Requisition documentation requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as Business plus five (5) years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and relevant experience.
- 3 years or more experience in leading projects and organized initiatives.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current PMP certification or equivalent certification, or the ability to obtain within 12 months is preferred.
- Familiarity with DOE project management best practices, procurement systems, financial reporting tools, and corporate tools/processes.
- Experience with standard project management practices including: scope management, project scheduling, cost estimation and management, quality assurance, communications planning and management, risk and opportunity management, and procurement management.
- Experience working independently on multidisciplinary teams subject to security requirements outlined in DOE directives and leading large projects to include: project coordination, updates, presentations, budget projections, and deliverables.
- Experience taking minimum direction in organizing, analyzing data, developing solutions, creating briefings, and facilitating high-level leadership meetings presenting results.
- Demonstrated experience with lean process improvements to security operations.
- Demonstrated teaming skills, including the ability to work effectively with other organizations, project sponsors and customers, and suppliers.
- Active DOE Q security clearances.
- Experience assisting with security assessments supporting DOE audits and assessments of Physical Security processes and systems and conducting analysis, corrective or preventive actions, and benchmarking where needed.
- Ability to work independently engaging with SMEs and Safeguards and Security (S&S) programs and efforts to appropriately support the interests of S&S the Physical Security Department.
- Ability to identify efficiencies in work processes, procedures and make recommended improvements.
- Experience in Quality and Assurance methods for DOE sites.
- Experience with developing and managing performance metrics and conducting data analysis to evaluate the success of end-to-end processes and quality improvement activities.
Physical Demands:
- If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sub-contractor you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.• If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sub-contractor, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
