We are seeking a skilled and experienced roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in repairing windows, roofs and outdoor guttering.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance to prevent and reduce leaks in University roofs. Inspect and repair roof flashing, gutters, and downspouts, and provide management with a written report of repairs needed for each building roof. Make repairs as needed to foam, single-ply, metal roofs, clay tile, built-up, coal tar, and asphalt roofs. Seal and waterproof windows and building exteriors. Inspect and clean roof surfaces while looking for defects, water-entry points, and damage. Tear off and replace built-up roofing and insulation on wood, metal, and concrete decks using the appropriate materials may be required.
Comfort using ladders, lifts, scaffolding, working at heights, sometimes on a pitched surface. Willingness to work outside in all weather, use of power tools, hand tools, and building materials. Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and not for personal use. This position regularly stands, bends, stoops, lifts above the shoulders, is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently and in excess of 100 pounds occasionally.
The employee in this position may be required to work overtime after 4 pm, shift work, and be on a rotating standby for emergencies during non-business hours, including when the university is closed and/or other events after 5 pm on weekdays, weekends, and holidays when management deems necessary. The ability to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management, regardless of weather, will be required; therefore, deeming you as essential personnel.
