As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department at Springfield Memorial Hospital, you’ll play a vital role in providing life-saving care for pediatric and adult patients. What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver expert emergency nursing care, quickly assessing and stabilizing critically ill or injured patients.
  • Perform rapid interventions, including administering medications, IV fluids and life-saving treatments.
  • Work closely with trauma teams, physicians and specialists to coordinate urgent and complex care.
  • Monitor patient conditions, responding decisively to changes in status.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, offering support, education and reassurance in high-stress situations.

Who We’re Looking For:

A high-energy ER nurse who thrives in high-pressure situations, demonstrates strong clinical judgment and is committed to exceptional patient care.

Education, Licensures & Certifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Active RN license in Illinois required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required

Experience:

  • Emergency nursing, trauma or critical care experience preferred
  • Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, stabilize and manage patients experiencing acute medical conditions.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies and emergency treatments as directed.
  • Assist with trauma response, resuscitation and critical care procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
  • Participate in emergency drills, continuing education and hospital-wide quality initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with emergency protocols, infection control measures and hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide seamless, patient-centered care.
