Overview:
Promote high standards of quality, safety, accuracy, and thoroughness, perform and facilitate day to day preventative maintenance, repair, and renovation of fixtures, equipment, and Campus Office facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to interpret basic blueprints for electrical, plumbing, HVAC and fire systems
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Demonstrates strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly checklists to ensure equipment remains in good working order
- Lead hired contractors when work is to be performed on the grounds or in the building.
- Lead and perform snow removal and de-icing for entire corporate office & Fargo store grounds.
- Schedule and bid contractors as needed for various scopes of work
- Identify and recognize unsafe working conditions or work practices
- Assist with safety procedure implementation and enforcement through inspections.
- Complete corporate safety checklist per the current safety guidelines & assist with safety procedure implementation and enforcement through inspections.
- Lead hired cleaning crew for work performed in the Corporate Office building.
- Learn and maintain lighting and HVAC controls programs for Corporate Office Building
- Review, approve, and code all maintenance invoices
- Rearrange and rebuild desks as needed by various offices in the Corporate Office building.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, including but not limited to, lighting, plumbing and HVAC
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Internet, and email programs
- Must be at least 18 years of age and an approved company driver; no Type A traffic violations in the last 3 years; 3 or more Type B driving violations or 2 or more at-fault accidents in a 3 year period are unacceptable
- Use of both hands to complete woodworking and maintenance projects
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Build fixtures and cabinets that are customized for particular spaces including accents and trim on time and under budget
- Set up, operate, and tend woodworking machinery such as drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, and air-powered tools
- Load and unload trucks
- Pack and ready fixtures and cabinets for shipping
- Work with the Woodshop team to complete projects to Scheels Woodshop Standards
- Identify and recognize unsafe working conditions or work practices

Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a 3-5 years of building maintenance experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Prior woodworking and finish carpentry experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
Very heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
