The goal of the Childhood Research in Obesity Prevention (CROP) program at Stanford University is to advance child health equity. To achieve this goal, the program seeks to translate clinical, community, and epidemiologic research findings into innovative population-level interventions during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood to prevent and treat childhood obesity and chronic diseases particularly among health disparity populations. The culture of the program is one that values growth, teamwork, and inclusion.
Current health services research projects are funded by NIH, PCORI, and Foundations amounting to over $20M total costs between 2024-2030 in addition to endowed program funding. Our research projects include the Food FARMacia randomized trial of an infant food security intervention; the LINC mixed methods study of social risk factors, navigation, and neighborhoods; and the PCORI-funded CHIME (Comparing Health Interventions for Maternal Equity) program. The CHIME program focuses on maternal-infant health equity through comparative effectiveness research, a broader partnership network, a partner learning network, and a research mentorship program using a community partnered approach.
Research Scientist will work with the research program PI (Jennifer Woo Baidal) to assist in attaining the goals of the PI’s sponsored research projects. Research Scientists will also work with the assistant director, managers, learners, and collaborators to partner on complex, multi-site research projects.
