Job Overview:

The Web Development team programs and creates the scripting language behind B&H’s web pages and ensures their compatibility with internal back-end servers and software systems. Any changes or modifications are drafted in conjunction with the Web Design team to plan and determine code capabilities for purposed design change as well as establish the code’s functionality with the existing e-commerce web technology systems.

Under minimal supervision the Web Developer Level 3 programs and creates basic to advanced code structures using Java technologies and SQL Query languages. Possessing an advanced knowledge of multiple web programming languages and object oriented design, the incumbent will understand how to manipulate the architectural framework of code design according to back-end server and software requirements.

Assignments given will be time sensitive and require development manipulation across multiple internal web systems. Tests will be conducted in different stages to ensure the appropriate operation of code for launch in production stage.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Programs and creates code for website using Java technologies and SQL Query languages
• Receive advanced web development requests and track in Jira
• Establish project requirements based on individual need for accurate and efficient project resolution
• Establish development framework for accurate back-end server integration
• Monitor code structure at all levels of development and testing to identify need for repair as needed
• Collaborate with all parties to determine need for code or development changes

Additional Responsibilities:

• Adapt to new and evolving technologies for efficient web development integration
• As assigned by Manager

Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:

• 3-5 years writing core Java, JDK, SQL, JSTL, and JSP
• Utilization of J2EE web technologies or Java Enterprise Software
• Moderate implementation of Object Oriented design

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of JavaScript, including understanding the capabilities and limitations of Java
• Familiar with Object Oriented design, Ajax, HTML, and CSS
• High level understanding of dynamic E-Commerce websites
• Resourceful, detail-oriented, and efficient research skills
• Articulate communicator, analytical and quick thinker
• Professional phone demeanor
• Knowledge of B&H policies and procedures
