This hybrid role is based in Los Gatos, California requiring three days a week at Netflix’s HQ. We offer relocation assistance, generous parental leave, vacation, and reproductive benefits.

What will you do in this role?

As a member of the Identity & Security Experiences team, you'll directly influence how millions interact with Netflix daily. Our focus is on building stable, reusable capabilities, enhancing Netflix operations, including streaming apps, Games, Ads, Live, Support, and Netflix House.

You'll play a pivotal role in building smooth account creation, login, and access experiences across Netflix products. You'll develop security experiences like Multi-factor and innovative methods to boost security and reduce fraud. Using server-driven and Web UI technologies, you'll create modular experiences that minimize client-side logic. Your work will enhance flexibility, increase experimentation speed, improve user experience, and directly contribute to our bottom line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical direction for Server Driven UI components.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, performant, and reliable.

  • Skilled in creating scalable and reusable server-side components, with an understanding of security best practices in web and server-side development.
  • 5+ years of professional experience designing, building, and shipping software using JavaScript, or TypeScript, and using unit tests and other automation to validate quality.
  • Familiar with GraphQL, server-driven UI techniques, and RESTful APIs for backend connectivity.
  • Bonus if you have experience in mobile development, with knowledge in Swift on iOS or Kotlin on Android.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in software development with a focus on web/server-side technologies.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Kevin is a Senior Software Engineer who focuses on Web UI development. He’s passionate about the web as a platform and cares deeply about the user experience. He loves working at the intersection of design and technology to solve complex problems. Kevin is based in the Los Angeles area and spends his time traveling, snowboarding, gaming, watching movies, and attending as many live concerts as possible.

Cherie Wang

Cherie is a Software Engineer focused on building backend mid-tier systems that power our user experience in the identity and security space. She loves working in a collaborative environment and is always seeking opportunities to learn something new. Outside of work, she enjoys watching shows and movies, playing racket sports, cooking, exploring restaurants and bakeries, and traveling.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, location, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $720,000.
