Position Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to support food safety and product quality at our meat processing facility. In this role, you’ll help ensure all products meet regulatory and internal standards through inspections, testing, and recordkeeping. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of incoming materials, production processes, and finished goods
- Monitor sanitation practices and ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, and HACCP standards
- Perform microbiological and chemical testing as needed
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of inspections, test results, and corrective actions
- Support food safety program implementation (HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs)
- Investigate product non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis and corrective action
- Train production staff on food safety protocols and quality standards
- Participate in internal audits and assist with third-party or regulatory audits
- Verify proper labeling, packaging, and storage of all meat products
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, or a related field preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in food manufacturing or meat processing preferred
- Solid understanding of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs, and food safety procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and familiar with quality management systems
Work Environment
- Work takes place in a cold, wet, and occasionally noisy production environment
- PPE required; must follow all company safety and hygiene procedures
