Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machines such as press brakes (Amada, Cincinnati, Trumpf, Accupress, etc.) to process metal or plastic materials
- Measure and inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet specifications, using micrometers, calipers, gauges, templates, and rulers
- Examine completed parts for defects such as chips or marred surfaces, and sort defective items according to type of flaw
- Adjust and set machine components such as rams, power presses, dies, and stops for multiple or successive operations
- Monitor machine operation and record performance and production data
- Test and adjust machine settings (speed, stroke, pressure) based on production specifications
- Install and align punches, dies, blades, and other fixtures using precision tools and templates
- Read work orders and production schedules to determine material requirements, cut lines, dimensions, and tolerances
- Position and secure workpieces using guides, stops, holding blocks, and other fixtures
- Load workpieces, raw materials, or solutions into machines as needed
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain machines to ensure optimal performance
- Mark completed workpieces with identifying information
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating and setting up press brake machines (e.g., Amada, Cincinnati, Trumpf, Accupress)
- At least 2 years of experience in metal or plastic material fabrication involving cutting, shearing, punching, bending, or similar processes
- Strong understanding of production practices and conversion processes
- Ability to interpret blueprints, production schedules, and technical specifications
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to use precision measuring tools with accuracy
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
