Basic Job Functions:
The IT Tier 1 Lead will be part of the NBT Infrastructure Team which is responsible for partnering with and supporting teammates at divisions.
The IT Tier 1 Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead and motivate the service desk team, providing guidance, and training.
- Manage and resolve IT Help desk support requests (including calls, emails, chats, and tickets) for all users within the Nucor organization.
- Ensure the IT Help Desk team is effectively and efficiently communicating, troubleshooting, and resolving user issues per the defined SLA’s and policies.
- Work with IT team for escalation of advanced user or system issues.
- Act as a communication bridge between the service desk and other departments, including customers.
- Monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure a positive customer experience by addressing concerns and proactively seeking feedback.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service desk processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure support/management
- Technical knowledge of hardware, software and network infrastructure.
- Experience with customer service and support.
- Professional demeanor with a high degree of flexibility, responsiveness, and self-direction.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate 24/7 support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Ability to analyze, identify and solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Displays responsibility, reliability, is committed to fulfilling work obligations and can hold others accountable for desired results.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal oversight.
