Our client in Mentor, OH is seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler on the 2nd Shift to join their team. A successful candidate will be responsible for operating sit-down forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Material Handler is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filler and checker duties. #COH
Responsibilities:
- Operate sit-down forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, manual lifting, or other equipment.
- Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
- Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a material handler with proficiency in operating sit-down forklifts.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to [insert weight limit]).
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Basic math skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
Benefits:
- Pay: $20.00 a hour
- Shift: 2nd Shift (1:30PM to 10:00PM or 3:30PM to 2:00AM) Monday - Friday
