- Responsible for forward sourcing with an optimized supply base in achieving supply chain advantages through competitive COST, TERMS and CONDITIONS, technological advantage to support PRE-PRDODUCTON and New - PRODUCT development.
- Supplier management activities in support of overall strategic procurement objectives and Quality Management System.
- Find the opportunity in procurement saving by negotiate for the best price and terms for Molex beneficial and continue focusing on purchase price reduction.
Our Team
You will be working under Purchasing department and report directly to Purchasing Manager.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for direct material prices, order lead time, payment terms, and other terms and conditions with suppliers ensuring competitiveness against industry market and meeting yearly goals. Lead new and existing suppliers RFQ and material price, negotiations for mass production projects. Optimizes Total cost and Bill of material cost Providing material pricing inputs and price erosion road map to support product and project costing. Track material price performance against target and drive opportunities to optimize material and supplier value. Support New Product Development (NPD) with respect to sourcing components. Source component that meets NPD BOM cost and Capex (tooling) cost. Proactively secure prototype, first of tool (FOT) sample and initial volume to support on time to market (TTM) launch. Align supplier to organization.
- Support escalation of delivery expediting and quality improvement by applying commercial pressure to suppliers to meet customer request delivery dateline on locating the best source in term of Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), quality, delivery and service including to negotiate for the best price and shipping term.
- On cost savings opportunities projects relating to design, material, and supplier changes, responsible to lead and work with appropriate functional groups like product development, project, quality, and other teams to ensure timely qualification with ER /PCN process. Understand the components costings to know where opportunities exist. Ensure price and all relevant terms of materials are updated in SAP in time correctly and timely for Direct materials order placement after approval by sourcing manager and/or commodity manager.
- Preferred Supplier List (AVL/ASL). On strategic components, pursue dual source option to minimize supply risk. Manages Supplier risk management in terms of Social Responsibility (EICC), environment, relocation, liquidation, capacity etc. to ensure materials/components supply. Routine communication with suppliers to find out any supply risks as early as possible and escalate any supply risk and change risk to management. Responsible to obtain potential new supplier general information as required (e.g., Supplier Survey and Supplier NDA). Initiates new vendor master creation form for approval. including obtain all required supplier documents (e.g., ISO Certificate, BOS data, Supplier COC, etc.) and the new supplier set-up in SAP. Responsible for Direct Supplier scorecard overall performance assessment for the plant. Work with cross functional teams to collect input from the various functions (quality, engineering, purchasing and operations) on the supplier’s quality, delivery, cost, and service performance to complete and review the Supplier Performance the score before input in the system.
- Drive improvements of supplier performance to address issues, explore opportunities, build relationships through periodic management business reviews to assure that the Division’s requirements are understood and/or corrective plans are in place. Lead reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders of the plant
- Lead preparation of data and analysis (individually or assist the commodity manager with preparation) for contract negotiations and pricing discussion. (e.g., spend analysis, price histories, research market and industry conditions, and collect forecast data on volumes).
- Continuously improve/optimize Molex sourcing procedures/processes for 100% compliance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Coordinate with global category management team
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Minimum of 3-5 years experiences with a multi-national company or equivalent.
- Technical background or strong understanding of tooling, stamping, molding, assembly, and related commodity expertise.
- Excellent oral and written communication in English
