The Manager of Network Operations role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the company's network infrastructure, ensuring seamless and secure operations. Primary responsibilities include planning, developing and implementing IT network infrastructure at existing offices, new builds and those acquired through mergers and acquisitions. This includes project managing IT discovery calls to gather information on existing contracts, connections, assets, employees and LCONs. This position will report to and work directly with the Director Network Services for purchasing and scheduling the implementation of Acosta standard equipment with internal and external resources. The Manager of Network Operations is responsible for all ISP circuits including ordering, monitoring, upgrading and disconnecting services.

  • Manage office and newly acquired company integrations of network, network equipment, wireless, VLAN segmentation, and computer conversions.
  • Design and oversee network and telecommunication projects with a goal to improving the current infrastructure.
  • Implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for network systems administration and appropriate use.
  • Administer office adds, moves, and changes as well as implementing ISP, network equipment, and POTS line installations as required.
  • Perform Project Management roles when needed to facilitate an office commissioning, decommissioning, or upgrade to include circuits, hardware, or IT needs.
  • Deploy and manage all wireless access point for Acosta offices.
  • Interact with technical staff to ensure the safe and proper installation of cabling, wiring, and other electrical hardware.
  • Interact and collaborate with resources, vendors, and contractors to implement and manage voice and data services.
  • Work with end users to establish service level agreements based on user requirements.
  • Assess need for any system reconfigurations, make recommendations and execute them as required.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network equipment procurement and development efforts.
  • Work directly with the Network Manager to design circuits to meet SLAs for current and future network implementation and business needs.
  • Monitor and identify capacity and performance issues for network traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of network systems.
  • Generate network usage and inventory reports as required.
  • Manage and administrate Jacksonville corporate video conferencing systems.
  • Provide on-call technical support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in industry name required.
  • Three (3) or more years of equivalent work experience.
  • Working technical knowledge of enterprise IT solutions (Network, PC, servers, printers, circuits).
  • Experience with project management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of the ITIL V3 processes (certification preferred).
  • Working knowledge of existing systems.
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, oral communications skills, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to accomplish responsibilities independently without a supervisor
  • Effective Time Management and Project Management skills
  • High self-motivated and directed.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Able to work after normal business hours and weekends when needed.
