Job Description

The CEE Program Specialist, under general supervision, performs moderately complex administrative work related to the wide variety of programming, events and communications, and operations associated with the Center for Educational Excellence. Collaborates with the Center's leadership to design high-quality programs and events that reflect the values of the CEE and Tarleton State University.

This is a full-time, in-office position based at Tarleton State University's main campus in Stephenville, Texas. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required to accommodate evening and weekend responsibilities as needed. Travel to other Tarleton campuses may be required based on operational needs. Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.

Responsibilities:

  • 40% Plans and develops specialized programs/events such as conferences, seminars, lectures, workshops, and receptions, to facilitate the goals of all areas within the Center for Educational Excellence.
  • 25% Participates in the development of program goals and objectives to help maintain departmental consistency and to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives. Confers with appropriate members of the Center's leadership team on issues and problems related to programs/events. Recommends solutions.
  • 15% Oversees the development and distribution of printed and electronic promotional materials, including management of the CEE webpages, ensuring tasks are completed in accordance with applicable laws, rules, procedures, and guidelines.
  • 10% Prepares and oversees the preparation of standard procedures for programming within the Center for Educational Excellence.
  • 10% Interprets policies, rules, and regulations to ensure they are followed within the department. Provides input into the development of new policies, rules, and regulations within the department.

Other Requirements:

Travels occasionally for events at other locations (including Tarleton's outreach locations in Fort Worth, Waco, and College Station). Travels occasionally for professional development, such as conferences. Works outside of normal office hours for event coverage as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience - 3 years of experience related to planning and executing programs/events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Marketing experience
  • Experience with WordPress

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to facilitate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple departments/divisions.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience

Salary Range:

The target base annual salary range is $49,000 to $68,330.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
