Primary Purpose:

To support the campus in meeting the needs of at-risk students through supporting Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 instruction.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Education
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject areas
  • Desire to become an administrator or instructional coach/specialist
  • Minimum Experience: 3 years of teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Texas Instructional Leadership

The Title I Instructional Dean shall:

  1. Lead the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of Response to Intervention (RTI)
  2. Support at-risk student identification (academic & behavioral)
  3. Maintain systems for progress monitoring of all identified at-risk students.
  4. Oversee, schedule, & facilitate SNAP Meetings
  5. Create, organize, and lead professional development for campus
  6. Lead interim and weekly data meetings
  7. Facilitate and coach the development of the weekly instructional planning guide
  8. Conduct observation and feedback cycles
  9. Collect and analyze student, campus, and district data
  10. Mentor and support new teachers
  11. Lead and support campus and/or district initiatives
  12. Organize the campus-wide tutorial program
  13. Analyze student benchmark data to determine appropriate interventions

Other responsibilities may include:

  1. Facilitate SPED Referrals
  2. Serve as the Coordinator/Assistant for:
    • 504
    • State Testing
    • TELPAS, and/or
    • MAP

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position may supervise assigned educational assistants.

Tools/Equipment Used:

Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture:

Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion:

Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, and use of a mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting:

Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment:

Frequent district-wide travel; occasional state-wide travel

Mental Demands:

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
