Job Summary

Responsible for the preparation and delivery of all feedings for infants in the NICU. Is also responsible for: receiving orders and maintaining records of current orders; communicating with the medical personnel to clarify orders; preparing infant feedings using aseptic techniques and all policies and procedures developed for the operation of the infant feeding room; labeling prepared feedings per policy and delivering feedings to the designated areas. Ordering and maintaining adequate supplies; checking and disposing of all outdated supplies per policy; rotating inventory, operating all equipment needed to prepare feedings; maintaining sanitation in the preparation area; communicating with the registered dietitians regarding individualized or nonstandard recipes or orders; filing and maintain temperature records and other records as required for audit; assisting with the training of ancillary/PRN or support staff personnel as necessary; follow-up on the mothers who are providing breastmilk for their infants to ensure adequate supply and infection control. Performs a variety of tasks.

Minimum Requirements

Education - Completion of nursing program at an accredited school

Training - Able to perform necessary mathematical tasks at above high school level.

Licensure – Active Louisiana LPN license; BLS certification
